I was judging the Mexican National Bulldog Specialty in Mexico City, Mexico, on December 1, 2007 the first time I saw Hummer.
My eye was drawn to a young male puppy that was being brought into my ring. "I like this dog," was my instant thought. This 12 month old male puppy was an easy Winners Dog for me. Fate walked in and I brought GCH R R Hummer back home to Indiana.
My gratitude and extreme thanks go out to my co-owners, Victor Lopez Marquez and Raul Castillo, both of Mexico. They made everything possible for me to be able to have Hummer here in the USA, state of Indiana, with me. You both are wonderful!
When Hummer first got here I had to teach him how to understand English, I speak zero Spanish. That training led to Hummer earning his AKC Canine Good Citizen Award. Hummer finished his Championship with 3 majors, 2 of those at Specialties. He also saved my life last summer when he thwarted a home invasion by awakening me when someone was breaking in a window. He will always be my hero.
Hummer is a compact 56 pounds of muscle and brains. He is fawn brindle and white, dark eyes, and a strong forward moving dog. This is a very balanced dog, beautiful front, nice depth, bone and tail set. His arch of neck, pear shape and top line are very nice.
Hummer list of accomplishments is growing. He is now in the BCA Hall of Fame for stud dogs. He is an American, Mexican and International Champion and in 2010 he won the World show in Denmark. |
